    Firmware Upgrades for Toshie HD-A1

Hi there guys. I purchased one of these units out of the USA ( I am in Oz) and am very happy with it. I am having some issues with my high speed internet and want to D/L the latest firmware. As I cannot seem to get my player to link with my wireless bridge, can someone please suggest a link where I can download this software, burn it to disk and boot it up?
Any help would be appreciated. By the way....go HD-DVD. If for no other reason than to stop Sony taking over the world....you all saw the Matrix, didn't you??? Take the red pill...buy a Toshiba!

Hi there, would love to say problem solved, but the link does not open. I think it has been removed.
Thanks in any case. Have a great day.

        Dingaling2004, Welcome to the Guide!

Have you followed the directions in the manual? Not being a smart butt. Just pointing out that it is pretty straight forward if you follow it. The A1 will find the D/L site on it's own and complete it. All you need to do is to follow the on screen promps. I did it and it went very smoothly. If you have problems after that, we'll see if we can help you narrow it down.

Congrats of getting the HD-A1 BTW. :T

Hi there, thanks for the reply. No offence taken.....us Aussies have trouble breathing and chewing gum simultaneously! Just jokes. I am having a problem not between my A1 and my puter, but rather the wireless bridge and my Ethernet Router. I have updated the firmware once already, but that involved me carrying a 68cm TV and my A1 down to my study where my main puter is. That worked fine, but I did get a little crappy about having to lug components around my home.
I have enlisted the help of a neighbour, who is a network administrator, and we both had problems. After scouring the net, I have found that my particular router has a problem holding on to IP addresses. Therefore, I thought it may just be easier to download the update, burn to DVD and insert it into my A1. So, back to square 1. Anyone know of a D/L link. Any help would assist me in not pulling out the last pathetic remains of my hair!
          Thanks
          Greg.

My apologies sir! I did a poor job of reading your initial post. No more late night reading for me! ops:

There was a page on the net that someone put up to D/L and burn to disc. Of course I can't find it now.

If you contact toshibe they will send you a disc to update. Anyway you can just plug a connection direct to the A1 for the update? BTW make sure no disc is in your A1 when doing the update.

Thanks very much guys. I will try getting onto Toshiba and try my luck with them. Not sure what sort of after sales service I will get from Toshiba USA from Australia. Toshiba Australia have never imported the HD-A1 units. the first gen here was the HD-E1.
                Happy viewing,
                Greg
