    static electricity

    OK guys and gals, I live in a very dry climate which tends to produce tons of static electricity.
    Problem I'm having is,
    I have two dog kennels in my front room, sometimes when I get up off my couch and go to let the dogs out, the static electricity is causing my volume on my TV to go extremely loud. This does not happen when I have my receiver turned on and my TV speakers off. Anyone know how this is happening?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Sure thing, first you need a wand made of copper,
    wire this to the ground prong of the nearest outlet and keep it in one hand.
    Just drop it if actually want the volume.
    By the way you should make a movie of that.

        I wouldn't recommend wiring yourself to any prong (even the ground prong) on the electrical outlet. If the outlet is wired incorrectly, it could be deadly.

        Instead, invest in a humidifier. Humidity reduces static, and makes your home more comfortable as well.

        Alternatively, touch a doorknob or a metal grounded object before touching your equipment.

        Static Guard (the spray) can help as well.

              Hey also check your HVAC controls. I just found out that my HVAC system can set humidity levels? Got to call the AC dude back cause I already forgot how to do it, but that is what he told me my system would do. I saw him set it in my house. He set it to 56% RH.

              I wonder just how many of us has these kinds of things in our homes and have NO idea that they are there.

                Humidifier is the definitive solution, either a standalone, or one that connects to your furnance. I have the latter to minimize static electricity, and dry air throughout my home.

                Peace and blessings,
