    Powering the RS 3-Way WWMT

I am in the process of building the Dennis's RS WWMT 3-ways and want to buy an amp to power them. I currently have a HK AVR-235 receiver, and I know that won't power them well enough. I have been looking at the Rotel 1080 pretty seriously as well as a few from Aragon and Parasound. I am also considering the behringer 2500, but I hate the idea of a fan.

The RS WWMT 3-Way is a 4-Ohm load, pretty sure. So the Rotel 1080 should be more then enough. I really only wanted to spend $500 on the amp though and I will have a hard time finding the 1080 for that. Any recomendations are appreciated.

From what I am reading, these speakers are very revealing of their source equipment. What do you guys recommend? I don't know the power rating on the speaker, but I assume 200w atts should do them well.

    Thanks, Mike

    Two channel amp

I just bought one of these and I love it!

I use my AVR 320 as the pre processor and the difference in the bass department was night and day. The Yamaha had plenty of juice to pump out the music. The fan has never come on since I've been using it. It runs cool, handles 2ohm loads, etc. I use it to drive my TMWW:

    Happy hunting.

I bought an Earthquake Cinenova Grande 3 channel to run my WWMT's and the associated Center Channel I am building right now. It has 300 watts X 3.

        RB-1080 as an upgrade...?
        by weijst
        Hi all,

I'm driving my B&W 705s (and HTM7) with the rare combination 1068/1075 . However, ever since I bought my Rotel gear I've been fascinated by the RB-1080 (or the RB-1090 for that matter, but that's beyond my budget).

Now I'm thinking about investing in a better...

Hi everyone. I am so glad that I found this board . . . it looks like it will provide lots of great information.

I'm considering upgrading my system from 2 channel to a 5.1 system. I currently have an RB-1080 powering my Paradigm Studio 80's. I do have some budget considerations and...

In the theater room I have 2 RB-1080s. I'm using the two of them to power the front stage: 2 Klipsch RF-7s and 1 RC-7.

So I have 1 amplifier powering only the RC-7, and the other powering both the right and left RF-7s.

The issue is that while everything SOUNDS fine, there...

        1070 or 1080... with a twist!
        by Joey_V
I have been offered a used (super condition) RB1070 for $450. However, I had my eyes on the RB1080 (brand new only since there have been numerous problems posted here and I want warranty).

        How different are the two?

Does the 1070 also have the separate power supplies...
