    Behringer A500 ???

Any thought on how this sounds. They're 179.00 shipped. My thoughts would be to sell off my B&K ST-140's for these.I would need three for six channels.I need some more juice for my RS center channels.

Only post if you have first hand(ear) impressions

They tend to buzz a bit. They do have the power I needed.I'm powering the RS28a/RS225 TM.

As far as sound quality, it is difficult to say at this moment because they are on surround duty.Due to the on wall surround situation I had some little peaks here and there.I smoothed all out with my Ashly PEQ.I like a bit of a dip in the midrange.

For sirround duty you can't beat them. One of these days i'll hook em' up to the mains and give a real review.

I know a couple of people who have 7 A500's bridged for all their channels.

comments were that it beat their existing 200wpc amplifiers.

No doubt the power is there.I just wish I could get a handle on the buzzing.Wow, 7 would be some serious power. And at the old price of 179.00 each, 1,250.00 for seven would do the trick.

          Here's a great review on the A-500

This guy makes a lot of sense to me....

When I opened up the box the A500 came in and saw it for the first time, I said to myself, “This is either the most incredible bargain in the history of audio or a total fraud!”

I made a hard copy for my records.I like it.He based everything on measurements and it made sense to him, but not for the cost.Hence, bang for the buck.

I can't wait to try the second amp on the back pair.Thanx for the link

              Behringer A500

I just got a Behringer A500 to power some small DIY 10" subs. I'm using an active crossover upstream of the A500. The high-pass output is going to active loudspeakers, and the crossover is expecting the low-pass amplifier to have a voltage gain of 25x (28 dB). The A500 has gain knobs on the...

Hello All, I have a question concerning the Behringer A500. It says in its specifications that when driving 8 ohm speakers it produces 125 watts per channel. It seems to me that this is very low. So an Onkyo receiver that specifies 135 watts per seven channels at 8 ohms, actually puts out more wattage...

              Vintage stuffs vs. Behringer A500
              by Raptor550
I was wondering is some of the people around in the 70's could give me some feedback. Basically its past Hi-Fi vs. modern day Mid-Fi. (midfi in relation to the super expensive gear that is.)

              Currently I have a Pioneer SA-7500 40w cont. x4. and a Kenwood KA-7100 60W per Channel x4 with a+b....

Behringer a500 as a subwoofer amp?
              by Raptor550
I have almost built a box for a dayton hf390 and I found out my amp is bust. I was thinking of something like a bash 500 plate amp, but I do not have alot of cash to work with. Right now I havent carved a hole in my box for an amp so I thought of useing an external amp for now.
              The beringer a500...

Why does my Behringer a500 sound tiny?
              by jimluu
I hope it's ok to post this question here. I just bought a complete behringer system consisting of 3 a500 amps, the dcx 2496 and the deq 2496. I tested the amps by using one unbalanced output from my existing preamp, but all 3 a500s sound like tiny transistor radios. Am I doing something wrong?
