Canare 4S11 vs AudioQuest Type 2 speaker cable

    Newbie here,

I am looking to build a home theater, and wanted to know if anyone has personally heard and compared these two cables. I will be auditioning B&W 603 S3, LCR 600, and 602 S3's for surrounds. I will also be auditioning the Monitor Audio RS6 speakers. If anyone has compared these two speaker systems, I would appreciate the input.

    Thank you!

the canare creats inductance purly by its geometry, that geometry is actualy useless in a high level wire..besides the gauge is way too large for anything in the mid to high frequency range, only good for subwoofer use and debateable at that,
here it is for cheap anyways though http://www.markertek.com/SearchProdu...ff=0&sort=prod

personaly id get some of the higher end audioquest litz wire
they are very conciouse of "skin effect" also
i recomend the "king cobra" composit cables too

cant go wrong with audio quest, but it isnt cheap

keep in mind that margin is about 60% on these cables so feel free to negotiate on those too :W

read the audioquest pdf as that has 20+ pages of everything you would ever care to know about wire theory... very nice wires :T

looks like he's looking at the budget route Peter.

how much are you looking to spend, and what length? email me if you want. I even have some used AQ type 4 I could sell you if nothing else and let you terminate it yourself.

I'm the owner of the forum, the cable guy too.

Just wanted to say "Hello" and thanks for all the info I've gleaned so far.

I have a B&O system 5000 and DCM TF-500 speakers (floorstanders), into which hooked my Mitsu 20" monitor, all circa 1986. I've been planning their replacements for a long, looong while....

          B&W 600 S3 Speaker Rewire
          by audioqueso
So I went ahead and rewired my B&W 600 S3 the same way as PewterTA did his 604 S3.
          http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php4?t=29953
I did everything exactly the same as PewterTA. except that I used Canare 4S11 cable. To be honest, after removing the B&W internal cables and...

Time to make the connections. Advice?

          Good afternoon.
First post here after lurking for a while. I've been bulding my theater for nearly a year and should be ready to actually plug it all in and watch a movie in about two weeks. I've worked out most of the details but now I need to figure out the best way to connect the components....

I just sold my B&W 805 Speakers for $1,950 on Audiogon. I am looking for a more discrete solution to music in the basement. We currently have a B&W system in our family room, powered by a pioneer Elite Receiver. The B Amplifiers are powering 2 pair of B&W WM2 Outdoor Speakers that are controlled...

          B&W 600 S3 vs FPM2 - First Comparison
          by audioqueso
          Hello Everyone,

A few weeks back, I had picked up a pair of DS6 S3 for surround duties. They sounded almost identical to my 600 S3 (that's a really good thing), but it just didn't work out for me for HT duties. Sold them, and bought a pair of brand new FPM2's.
          Upon first playing...
