    Xbox: S-Video AND Component Outs?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to get S-video AND component video signals out of an Xbox? I know you can purchase S-video OR component video cables, but I'm not aware of anything that does both concurrently.

Unfortunately, I need S-video for the TV and component for the projector. Without this option, I'll either need an upconverting preamp to bring S-video to the component projector or I'll have to forfeit gameplay on the S-video TV, being that preamps don't downconvert (not that I'm aware of, anyways).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dave,

This is the closest thing I've seen without buying an expensive converter.

    X2VGA

Maybe with a couple of adapters, this can give you a start.

    Best regards,

i was trying to do the same thing, but i wanted composite and component, so i could have the feed go to my rotel screen on my processor.

i dont see how that converter would help?

maybe there is some kind of down-converter?

The only thing this converter does it convert the signal to VGA. Which would allow for the 720 or 1080 on your HDTV.

This will not help display two different video selections. As far as I know, there's no way to do this.

Do you have access to the rear of the xbox? You can use both the standard av cable hooked up and also have the component HD box as well. Then you will be able to just pull out the one you are not using and plug in the one you want on the back of the xbox. This is what i'm going to have to do for my setup. Lucky for me I have easy access to the xbox' rear.
