Help. Terminating beldin coax for component cables

I've been searching for quite some time but haven't found any affordable solution for creating component cables from beldin 1694A and Canare RCAP-C53. Does anyone have suggestions, or know a cheap solution? If not, can I just use solder connectors (I'm proficient at soldering)

    Silvercans,

Your local Radioshack etc will sell you coax stippers and crimp tools... You can solder as well for a better connection... You'll most likely get a reasonable result but not as good as a professional cable.

Silvercans, try this at PartsExpress. Seems like the compression connectors are a great option that they just added, and they offer color inserts for the cables.

Thanks for the link. Those looked promising until I saw the price of the compression tool ($100 :E ).

Yeah, that's a bit steep. I have a snap'n'seal tool that I hope will work when I order some.

you can get nice compression tools for about 40 bucks at lots of places. I compression stuff all the time no problems. Stay way from Crimp IMHO.

              Help with Audio Coax cables
              by timetohunt
I am new to the audio hobby. Have about 12k worth of music but nothing of an audio system to speak of yet. So I am working on it. Here are a couple questions about the coax audio cables.

#1. I realize that these are required in order to pass HT or surround information from a CD/DVD...

Hi guys, I finally got moved into the new house this weekend and spent the better part of the weekend (much to my wife's dismay) hooking up the HT. I have not had a chance to calibrate anything yet, but sat down a few times to try to watch some things on the TV, just to test drive the HD cable.

              Audio vs Video cables
              by Andrew Pratt
I know 75 ohm is the standard for Video cables and digital coax cables but what about audio? I was led to believe that audio cables should be at 110 ohms but I've heard otherwise...whats the deal?

I have been using a cheap Coax cable from my DVD player to my Rotel 1066 Processor, I was wondering will I hear any difference using a dearer $150 cable.
