Strain relief at the back of the AVR/PrePro

This may have been answered before and apologies if it has, I am wondering what methods you use to minimse the strain on the terminals on the back of your AVR/PrePro.

If you are like me and have everything including video being switched there a lot of cables and weight behind the unit, just letting the cables hang is not going to do much good for the terminals IMO.

On the rear door to my equipment cabinet, I've got horizontal cross-braces that can be used for cable supports. I just put a double-sided Velcro strap around the I/C or cable and snug it moderately tightly to the support. Viola, no more strain on the terminals.

      Thanks David.

I like the idea of Velcro straps.

At the moment I have the cables strapped back to the supports of the stand that I am using with cable ties, in the new setup the back is open and I will have to use the side wall.

Richard, if you are going to be using a side wall, you can sink eyebolts into the wall and attach the Velcro through the eyes.
