    Left-Right Co-relation

Can a corelation be formed between left and right speakers on what is the max distance one can keep between the two and still maintain an optimal soundfield. This can be based on mathmatical calulation, output or anything else. This is to determine that beyond a certain distance between them, the speakers will sound as only as individuals and not as left and right together.

    Is there something ???

I'm not sure if there is a set formula per se but it also is related to how far you are from the speakers. If you have the mains spaced apart about the same distance as your listening position from the speakers, this makes a good starting point, and tweak the positions from there.

Another factor is how well the speakers sound off-axis, in particular in dispersion of high frequencies. Toeing in the speakers can help a lot especially if you have to put them farther apart than the optimal distance.
