    DVI to HDMI Connection Issue

I connected my Samsung HD-841 to my 42" Sony LCD RPTV via a DVI-HDMI cable I bought from Pacific Cable. The problem is is that I'm getting "snow" on the screen using this connection, didn't have a problem before with component cables. Any guesses what the problem is? I'm guessing a bad cable or poor sheilding (is this applicable on a pure digial cable? ) but I don't have a good way to test it as I dont have any other DVI sources. Anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks for the help in advance. :T

Actually, that sounds like HDCP problems. Is your TV HDCP compliant on HDMI?

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

I'm not sure, how do I check if it's HDCP compliant? The model is KDF-42WE655 and I couldn't find any information on the Sony website. Is there any way to get around this problem if it isn't HDCP compliant?

I have my HD841 connected to my Hitachi RPTV by a DVI-DVI cable from Pacific. No problemo with their cables.

I am just beginning to research home theater front projectors and am trying to get a feel for relevant points. I have seen only a handfull of projectors in operation first hand at local high-end audio-video stores, but none of the ones that seem to be more highly rated on some...

          by dmcgowan
I haven't been using my RVE-1060 for 6 months due to moving house but finally put it back into our theatre system on the weekend. I have it acting as a HDMI switch so that the HTPC and STB can share the second input to our HD950 projector.

I am having two problems with it which didn't...

          DVI doesn't equal DVI!
          by Frank T.
What a drag: The moment you think you are able to match a brand name DVI player with a front projector with the much required "HDCP authorized" DVI input, more problems arrive:

Some DVI output DVD players prefer the companionship of certain front projectors. Forget 'Plug &...
