A few more to add to the mix,
Who'll Stop the Rain by Creedence
    America, Simon and Garfunkel
Goodbye to Love, The Carpenters. This one give me chills because of the way Karen was calling out. Very SAD situation there
Islands in the Stream, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, Paying honor to my wife of 28 years here!!!
Your my Soul and Inspiration, The Rightous Brothers

One thing though, all of these must be played at a substancial volume to get the most out of them

a few choices from a young guy...

Paper Tiger by Beck from Sea Change
        - for me, this is one of the best sounding songs in my collection. it can give me goose bumps.

The Scientist by Coldplay from A Rush of Blood to the Head
        - some songs take you back to a time in your life (good or bad). The Scientist takes me back to a very difficult stretch I had w/ my girlfriend (now fiancee). To this day it gives me chills, it makes my fiancee cry.

Let Down by Radiohead from OK Computer
        - IMO, one of their best songs. i've listened to this song countless times and it still gets me.

probably a cliche, but the intro to Time by Pink Floyd gives me goose bumps. - this is probably due to the fact that it was the first song i played once i had my system hooked up. the anticipation of how it would all sound and the buyer's remorse combined to raise the little hairs on the back of my neck.

... and McDonald's has the sold the most hamburgers ever, but that doesn't mean they're good. I guess I should add her to my list, though, since Celine Dion gives me goose bumps, too -- the same way as fingernails scraping a blackboard (only the fingernails on blackboard tend to be more melodic.) :>)

Actually, the female singer we both really like, whom I neglected to include before, is Patricia Barber -- now there's someone who can raise goosebumps for real. Hmmm... gotta go play "Cafe Blue" or "Modern Cool" or "Verse" or "companion" or "A Distortion of Love" or "Split" or "nightclub" or maybe all of the above -- TTYL :>)

                    Burke!

That's pretty much how I get goosebumps off of Celine.....like finger nails on a chalk board! LOL...I wasn't sure when I wrote that how people would react......I was hoping I wouldn't get a :F

                    That being said....

"Cliffs of Dover" - Ah Via Musicom

Now Playing - Ah Via Musicom, Eric Johnson, "Cliffs of Dover". Defintely guitar god material, with more than a small amount of influence from great classical violin players, and from Arron Copeland. Brings tears to my eyes. Literally.

                          What a great thread!!

Quite a few have been mentioned that are without a doubt goosebump material for me. But I'll mention one or two of them again I'll list songs by the same artist together.

Skyline Pidgeon, High Flying Bird, Your Song, Blues For Baby and Me, I've Seen That Movie Too, We All Fall In Love Sometimes/Curtains- Elton John

Possession, Fear, I Love You, Full Of Grace, Adia, Witness, Blue, Dear God (cover song) - Sarah Mclachlan

Man Of The Hour, Black, In My Tree, Sad, Footsteps, Whale Song, Thumbing My Way, Nothing Man, Rearviewmirror, Jeremy, I Got ID- Pearl Jam

Alright For Now, You Tell Me, Insider, Louisiana Rain - Tom Petty

On Susan's Floor, Beautiful, Never To Close, Spanish Moss, I'm Not Supposed To Care, If You Could Read My Mind, Summer Side Of Life -Gordon Lightfoot

Man On The Moon, Drive, Everybody Hurts, You Are The Everything, World Leader Pretend - R.E.M.

Travelin' Soldier, A Home, I Believe In Love, Godspeed (Sweet Dreams), Top Of The World - Dixie Chicks

See Off This Mountain, Sign On The Door - Edward McCain

Amused To Death and The Final Cut - Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) those whole two albums.

There are so many more in rock and pop. I haven't even touched on the classical, Jazz and other genras.

Was listening to the radio this AM over a coffee and Whitney Houston came on with I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU and there are parts of that piece where she really gives me the goosebumps. Man that was on the charts for quite some time a few years back and it still gts play.

April Wine's YOU WON'T DANCE WITH ME. A song about the trials and tribulations of young love. Brings back many memories and gives me the goosbumps everytime I hear it.

Actually, I think it's a GOOD thing... shows that people are taking advantage of the complete archive we have on line here, checking out stuff that remains as interesting now as the day it was posted. Even better, it gives you the opportunity to add something new to share with the rest of us framed in a "conversation" that many of us are already familair with.

All of your choices are "winners". I hadn't thought about Heart and "Crazy On You" in years, but thinking back to when I first heard it, the magic is still there.

Patti Smith has a fascinating body -- of work. :>) Her albums kind of grow on you with repeated listening, even if the individual songs don't all give goose bumps on first hearing.

Although I lived in Alabama right about the time when "Sweet Home Alabama" was popular nation-wide, you deserve extra credit for picking one of Lynrd Skynrd's OTHER songs. :>)

Thanks for reviving the thread. You're on a roll ... don't stop now!

My sister spent many years learning to sing opera. About 6 years ago she was going to perform Ave Maria for a local choir ( yes she taught opera as well). Ironically, this was right after our dad passed on. When she was practicing,..... man,..... inexplicable. ops:
Also, Amazing Grace performed on bagpipes always draws me in and gives me goosebumps.
