Damn...I bet Walmart gets a lot of returns on SACDs. "I dunno...it just didn't play in my Audiovox"

Keep in mind the new stones SACDs are hybrid PCM/DSD and aren't even marked on the package anywhere that they ARE SACDs. This is the only format these albums are now available in.

Stealth SACD. Walmart might not even know what they are.

Thanks for the heads up re Walmart. I buy DVD's and epoxy there, and some CDR blanks, so why not SACD Hybrid disks? Actually, if you're into the Stones, the new SACD hybrids are a great deal whether or not you have an SACD player- they are carefully remastered from the best tapes they could find, and blow away the available std. CD's. The hybrid layer is a SBM down conversion of the DSD layer, and will be pretty much state of the art for CD.

Don't let it out, but I buy Hybrid SACD's for the high quality CD layer to run through my DAC- in most parts of the frequency range, this tops the available performance through the Sony SCD777ES that I have using either the CD or SACD side. Someday I hope players will be available which really do SACD justice - it just isn't happening yet. But, IMO, remastered Hybrid disks are the way to go.

So let's all get our Ya Ya's out....

Hmmmm. At $13.98 a piece, times 22 re-mastered albums, that's $307.56 for the 'Stones SACD collection. Not too shabby. :T
