    can you Handel this?

from today's edition of "The Writer's Almanac"

It was on this day in 1743, that George Frideric Handel’s oratorio "Messiah" had its London premiere.
During the famous Hallelujah Chorus, King George II was so moved by the music that he involuntarily rose from his seat.
The audience, out of respect for the king, also stood up.
Ever since, it has been a tradition that the audience rises during the singing of the Hallelujah Chorus.

I had a chance to listen to the discontinued Chorus 715 speakers yesterday (replaced by 716) and these speakers are AMAZING for their price.

I never thought i could find a decent set of HT speakers (5+1) that include tower speakers up front for Cdn$2k, never mind GOOD tower speakers...

      by Lex
It's a sad day in Bluesville. The King is gone. BB King passed away at his home in Las Vegas Nevada. Though he had been in hospice care. I guess he decided he wanted to go home one last time. If the news reported accurately. I hope that Lucille was close at hand.

      This is a really...

      Honor the King

It was this day in 1977 that we lost Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll. Some of you weren't here then, but I remember where I was at just as plain as day when I heard this news.

I just watched an Elvis special, I'd say one of his last in the prime concerts, and it was awesome! He was...
