    Fusion Fishing

    It is time for me to go on a jazz fusion exploration.

    What Weather Report albums do you guys and girls recommend?

    Does anyone have any favorite Jaco Pastorius albums, and what makes them so?

    I already have a vast library of Miles, so we can skip any of his, for now.

    How about Latin fusion? Anyone have some favorites?

    One of my top ten albums (CD) is Jazz Pana - The Vince Mandoza / Arif Mardin Project. Features Al Di Meola, Michael Brecker, Peter Erskine, Steve Khan, and many others.

    I got this one used nearly 15 years ago, and still must listen to it at least once a month. Anyone else ever heard of this one?

          I have the self titled and debut 'Weather Report'. I got this when I heard the track 'Milky Way'. The piano strings were not sounded by the hammers but by the gentle vibrations of Wayne Shorter's soprano sax. I also have "Forecast: Tomorrow" A triple cd & dvd box set.

                  Trip Report - Byron Bay Music Festival

                  Over Easter six of us headed off to Australia for the 19th Byron Bay East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival. I went last year too.

                  Byron Bay is a beautiful little town with a lovely beach and plenty of good restaurants and bars which we made good use of when not attending the festival....
