    "Vinyl" CD

I just got a few new new CDs including "Ain't Nobody Worryin'" by Anthony Hamilton. Its really great slow jams with an old school soul flavor. The CD label mimics the look of an LP complete with grooves and blank spaces between tracks. The sound of vinyl-like ticks and pops can be heard on the intro of each track and during soft passages. Its actually quite subtle and not distracting at all.

I also got "Dreaming Wide Awake" by Lizz Wright on the Verve Forecast label. Her sound is a bit like Cassandra Wilson meets India.Arie. Really great stuff and well recorded.

I've seen the blank cd-r's that look like 45s offered.
Not sure how you would label them.

Cool looking... just don't screw up and accidentally put it in a turntable!

Last week my V good friend (PewterTA) brought over his new (less than the factory recommended 30 hours run-in time) Cambridge Audio 840C CDp for a V informal and unscientific demo.

Check out ther great article below from a great web site (http://stevehoffman.tv/)

Based on articles like this and personal experiences, I find that a CD that was recorded/produced properly will almost always sound better than any vinyl version of that same recording.

More Evidence of the Resurgence of Vinyl

Chances are, if you’re not a record collector or follower of certain “niche” bands, you may not have heard the news: vinyl is back.

Well, sort of. As the record industry laments the decline of the CD — and along with it,...

              Vinyl and Cd...not vs.
              by Alaric
I prefer the "feel" of most recordings on vinyl , even though my vinyl rig is a few steps down the scale from my digital stuff. It sounds (to me) like digital reproduction is a great reproduction of the performance. Vinyl sounds more like the performance. Or do I prefer older music on vinyl...

Record Player To Convert Vinyl To Digital
              by theSven
I have inherited some vinyl and I would like to convert them to digital, add to Roon, and enjoy listening. I've never owned a record player and from reading around this website and the web there seems to be a whole bunch of other gear that one would want to for a vinyl setup... Since I've been all digital...
