Man, I went to order Avenged Sevenfold's new CD and a Tom Petty collection to replace some abused CDs that have seen better days - added them to my cart on Amazon and it gave an estimated delivery date of November 30th! WTF! I'll pick 'em up at the mall this weekend. That is absolutely ridiculus. :roll:

The past couple years I've done 90% of my Christmas shopping with Amazon and B&N, but this year I think I will actually go to the mall. Lately I've notice shipping times increase, and shipping prices have skyrocketed.

I called Amazon's impossible to find 800 number (called toll-free directory assistance to get it), and got some lady at Amazon who barely spoke English that told me "I don't know". Told her "If I have to wait 3-4wks for two CDs I won't be purchasing from you guys". Her response was "Oh?". I hung up.

Walmart is the only local store where I can buy CDs, and since they edit theirs, I have to drive 20+ miles to purchase music... :M

Oh well. Had to get that rant out. I'm getting fed up with some of these places.

Dave - they have been doing that for years now. All profanity and racial remarks are zapped out with either radio blanks or "alternate content".

Amazon service has definately gone down the crapper!

I waited for six weeks for some DVD's and there is now no-where on the site to send a mail to to ask about late deliveries.

Unfortunately here we have some very itchy fingers in our Post Office and orders do go "missing".

In the past, I could reply to the despatch advice, but now Amazon have made this into a "No reply" situation.

In this state of affairs it is better to shop at the local store.

I wanted to preorder the new System of a Down CD through amazon, but it said it would come around the middle of December on my order form. I called and got the same people that don't know english. At first, she thought System of a Down was a brand of house appliances or something dumb like that. I even told her it was a CD and she said "Oh, that's wrong. It's in the home appliance section."
And here I am listening to Hypnotize Thanksgiving, way before the middle of December.
