I am also a fan of some of the MF gear as well.

Regarding Osborn, Krix, & Redgum, yes they are all still going strong.

Are higher end cd players worth it, Absolutely. Fired up my Jolida JD100 today and without an a/b can tell you the Denon 1910 does'nt hold a candle audio wise. The bottom end has punch that the 1910 never dreamt of delivering, and the top smoothed out noticably. I didn't realise the RF 7's went so low, as I use a sub for movies. I didn't think the Denon sounded bad to begin with, for $250 it's better than many on the market, it's just outdone by better cd only units.

Congrats on you new cd player. I am very sure that a high end cd player is worth the price of admission. My only problem is that there appear to be too many choices and it is so difficult to attempt to demo various players under similar equipment/listening scenarios to my home set-up in the high end rooms of hi fi dealers that I have been held back from making such a jump.

I note raves about the Jolida player on many forums - so listen away and report back again after the player breaks in.

I am a relative newbie and have recently stepped up from some very old (1970's) mass market equipment.

I have an Arcam AVR 250 Receiver and Spendor S5E Speakers. I am looking to invest in a good quality CD player that would match up nicely. Would matching this equipment up to a Naim...
