    Ribbon or Dome Tweeter

    Just a quick question.
    What is the difference between a dome tweeter and a ribbon tweeter and why is one better than the other.

      Neither in and of itself, is inherently 'better'.

      They are fundamentally different, so comparisons are an apples vs oranges or tubes vs transistor situation... choose which one you prefer.

      Ribbons/leaf/planar tweeters present a bigger design challange due to their relatively limited vertical dispersion. Also most need to be used with a relatively high XO point.
