About two years ago, I listened to Joseph Audio bookshelfs (model #7? or 22?) and big towers (model #50?) in the same room on Bryston stereo gear. The sound was very nice. The bookshelfs sounded surprising close to the towers in most areas, and had good bass.

Yeah, the R7si, I think it was, best of show winner. In fact, they've won best of show several times. They seem to be really good at that.

I've never heard them, but I'd expect them to be well above average for the dollar spent.

        Tom,

Couldn't find anything on JSE 2a's at the Joseph Audio site.

Here's a shot of the RM 7-Si bookshelf speaker:

And here's the RM 50-Si, which have been discontinued:

          Thanks guys..

Jeff Joseph answered my inquiry on AA and said the seller misrepresented the speakers.. that they are not Joseph Audio speakers.

          He should know.. no?

              MichaelW,

Finally got a chance to hear the JA 25sigs yesterday at Park Audio in NY. Kind of short demo, but there was much to like. I'd love to hear the 30's, but didn't have them setup in the demo room I was in. The room wasn't optimal, but I was surprised at the bottom end--really stronger...

Bookshelfs or floorstandings for dedicated HT room
              by SoundEngine355
              Hi,

Just wondering for a dedicated HT room if bookshelfs or floorstandings would be better?

              Say B&W 805s vs B&W 803s just for HT.

Considering THX recommends 80hz crossover, I don't see much use in having a 3 way for the LCR if all the audio below...

One of our members, Dhar, shared with me a project he's being working on for a friend- it's a build using a Joseph Crowe designed front baffle for the SB and PuriFi drivers, with a waveguide for the tweeter milled into the front panel. Joseph Crowe sells a 3D CAD file for the baffle drawing, and then...

Not sure how many DefTech owners we have at the Guide but I thought this worth posting anyway. It seems the big BP2000tl and bigger BP3000tl powered towers are about to be replaced:

Home Theater Config without Compromise in 2-channel Audio?
              by austriacus
              Colleagues:

I am looking for a balanced solution between audio and video. My disappointment is that surround-receivers (like the Denon 3805 I tested) are "big engines" with a lot of buttons and plugs but really do not fulfill my requirements for listening to stereo. So I...
