A Flood of Lexicons for Sale

Audiogon has been flooded with Lexicon processors for sale. There are usually maybe 15-20 listed, but today there are 38 listed. Why the sudden urge to sell? Do they know something we don't?

I know about the MC-8, but Lexicon has announced a trade-in policy, at least for the MC-1. Maybe these are the ones not eligible for trade-in.

Perhaps some people think they will somehow come out better this way, before it's here?

Or perhaps they have debated about jumping ship, and know they better jump now before there's a glut of used MC-1s?

Either way, mine is going no where, until the trade program, then maybe, I will just have to see.

There's no glut of MC1/DC2/DC1s on audiogon, looks the same as usual to me. And if you look, most of them with asking prices under 2k are sold. Looks like more MC12s, CP3s, and NT amps than usual.

Lexicon vs newer Ref50/Anthem/Rotel/Outlaw for DVDs?
              by Ricky
Just wondering if any former or current Lexicon DC1/DC2/MC1 owners think these Lexicons compare to the newer prepros for DVD sound? I am not talking about features. Just how does it make a 5.1/6.1 DVD sound?

              Lexicon LX-5/CX-5 v A51?
              by mikepinkerton
I'm curious if people have had much experience comparing the A51 to either of the Lexicons above. The CX seems more closely matched in price, but obviously the LX is the benchmark. I know i'm posting in the parasound forum, and I want a little bit of bias, but you all seem rather level-headed, so I...

No not Lexman and his new DT Forum

What next on the plans for Lexicon? I hear that a new two piece processor is coming out that will be the new flag ship, so the MC1 didn't stay at the top for long. Anyone got details?

How Does the Lexicon MC-1 Rate at This Point in Time?
              by spyboy
I had the hots for the MC-1 several years ago, but couldn't see spending $2,000 for one. Used ones are down to $1,200 or less (V4). I know it doesn't have the latest DACs and some other features like auto EQ, video switching, DPLIIx and more.

I like tone controls and the Lexicons...

              RSP-1066 vs Lexicon DC-1
              by griddall
I have been saving my pennies for an RSP 1066 for a few months now, but the longer I wait to buy, the more questions I come up with. I see allot of Lexicon DC-1's coming up for sale and I am wondering if anyone has any comments on these 2 processors. It seems I could get them for approx the same price...
