Lexicon LX-5/CX-5 v A51?

I'm curious if people have had much experience comparing the A51 to either of the Lexicons above. The CX seems more closely matched in price, but obviously the LX is the benchmark. I know i'm posting in the parasound forum, and I want a little bit of bias, but you all seem rather level-headed, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Mainly, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on the A51 but I'm wondering what going with the Lexicon for 50-100% price will bring me. SGHT raved about the A51, though, so I wonder if they're still in the same class. If this is the last amp I'm going to buy, shouldn't I aim as high as I can? Am I aiming too low with the Parasound just because the $ looks better?

I don't know of any professional reviews comparing the units you mentioned, but if it's any consolation, the C1/C2 and the MC-12 Balanced received essentially identical scores in Home Theater Magazine, despite the MC-12 being $2000 more I think.

Well, I don't know about a direct comparison. I've never used Lexicon. But I know for sure that they're outstanding pieces of equipment. I really DON'T think you'd feel that you were "settling" by going with the Parasound--they're very good units that give outstanding performance and will satisfy your every desire for quality sound.
