It's an interesting approach, but sort of a 'finger in the dike' as it were to actually solving a problem they created....
What Maggie and ALL the other planar mfgrs need to do is get their butt's in gear; and make real center channels that have adequate output, and are large enough to run with big panels. The current offerings from the planar mfgr's are a joke.

Agreed thomas the centre from magnepan is a joke and needs to be addresses before people will take them seriously in the HT market. I find my single MMG to do a good job for what I need but being a single flat panel dispersion is limited for those with larger roooms....thats where the Martin Logan's centre is better IMO

by Chris3GAs per Dre J's bass management reports and solutions, the best way to connect the 1066 and an ICBM (not including 5.1 inputs) is to set the sub to "off" in the 1066 menu setup, sending LFE bass to the front channels, and then letting the ICBM sort it out. The downside to this setup is the...-

by Dennis HHoly crap! Maggie has done it again. :bluezoned:
The new MMG W is a "single driver" 38"x10.5"x.75" panel meant to be wall mounted and they claim it can cover 100-16K with the boundary loading of the wall. It costs - get this - $300/pair. Does it get any better...-

A planar magnetic transducer, also known as a planar driver, is a type of loudspeaker driver that uses a thin and lightweight diaphragm with an embedded conductive coil to produce sound.
