    Turntable isolation

    Hi,
What is everyone using as a dampener? My new deck sits on a wooden table that I'm sure isn't the ideal platform.
    Thanks,
    Ken

There's always a hanging platform. Seriously, that was a thing at one time and it's actually pretty effective. It's also inconvenient and aesthetically challenged, but if you live near a freeway or train tracks....

Thanks guys, I was thinking of a home made "plinth" to stabilize the old pine door table that it sits on. I've read that a granite slab would ring, concrete might be an option...... I haven't experienced any problems, but sometimes little tweaks improve things

A cork mat might be worth a try (and cheap).

                  Turntable recommendation
                  by SteveT
As a possible upgrade consideration, I was thinking of also upgrading my turntable. I'd like to get one that will perform to my needs. My thing is that I like to play my music at loud levels with decent base response, and my turntable now receives feedback and starts to hum. This even happens if...

My hobbies and interests wax and wane, as I burn out on one and take up another... and recently I've started spinning those 12" vinyl discs again while I work.

Love the experience and the sound, and knowing that with some tweaking I can make it even better.

It's making a resurgence, not only in my home, but in many homes, as people try to reclaim a part of their youth that they cherished dearly. The Rock and Roll era may be gone per se, but it is NOT forgotten, nor the many great jazz, blues, bluegrass, country, and easy listening...

I finally got tired of using the decent, but PITA, rollers that slide up and down to catch large ripped projects on the Table Saw. I was looking for Ideas on an extension table that would move with my saw. It's on a moveable platform so I can put it in the driveway when it's time to use my '65 Delta...

This is an interesting accessory I just learned about (on Valentines Day, while shopping for other things) at my local Sears....

In case you're wondering what it is, it's a router table insert which fits 27" deep table saws. Not sure if...
