i have added a link to Jon Marsh's "Munich Report" thread here because it deserves as much exposure as possible in that it exemplifies a personal, hard-learned truth about our hobby/passion for the accurate & realistic reproduction of music in our homes.
that truth being, as Jon phrased so well, "[do not] make assumptions based on component specifications or cost, but [realize] that there is no worthwhile substitute for a lot of listening and sometimes a lot of experimentation to get to where you may want to be in your personal quest for musical nirvana."
i am one who has, with help from the many friends made here, found such satisfaction with a system based on a set of Natalie Portman's & 'economy' level components that delivers performance V close to the many mega dollar systems i been fortunate to spend time with.
