As with any audio component, test bench measurements are only one (& a V incomplete) way of assessing the performance of equipment. And the test results may or may not manifest themselves when actually listening to the unit. As noted in the Stereophile test summary, no audible artifact was attributed to the issue you refer to. In fact distortion in odd order harmonics is sometimes (& often inaccurately) attributed to a ‘tube’ sound that may actually be interpreted as a pleasing sound quality by some & can sometimes be used to give solid state equipment a ‘softer’ more ‘tube-like’ sound.
Jeez…I really hate using these generalization…….so keep in mind that this is the short answer.- Bottom
