    Hi Peter,

There is a fairly lengthy thread over on the Stereophile forum on the these amps.
They commented on some of the gains provided by doing some tube rolling & overall, the consensus was quite positive.

Also, a thread over at the DIY forum seems quite impressed, & these guys can be a tough bunch at times.

Of course, one would want to be confident their speakers are a decent match (efficiency wise) for this type of amplifier.

I ordered it. I see that nobody really likes the tubes it ships with lol. I'll probably keep them for a while then replace them and see if I notice a difference.

Is this your first 'Valve' amp?

I received this monster yesterday. I was a little worried that I had been over charged on shipping but this thing is huge.

I have to admit I was a much more in the watt is a watt camp then stereophile review crowd. I've built my own headphone amp using discrete stages that were probably excessive due to the fact that it is low power. Long story short I could tell the difference and so could other people- even with ipod ear buds. So I had enough of an open mind to try this tube amp.

I dont even understand what I am hearing... I am definitely a convert and my cambridge integrated is going on ebay. My only com[plaint is the volume control via the remote. For some reason one click on the remote translates into a huge rotation on the volume knob. It was so exaggerated that I was convinced that this was just a poor implementation of a digital volume control. It wasn't until I went to manually turn it up that I realized it was a motorized analog pot. So in short the motor on the pot is too responsive per one click on the remote...

So we can take it that you are pleased with what you are hearing despite the remote volume control.

I believe it may provide even better performance as it gets some more hours on it.

Thanks for the update & keep us posted on further impressions, please!

Yeah...I just looked up the spec on those Usher BE 718 diamonds.....

At 87 dB sensitivity @ 8 ohms, they are in no way an 'easy' load.

Still, 50 watts of good old push-pull, fully class A power will surprise a lot people!

50 watts is plenty! I've run my dynamic 4t's of 25 watts and they got plenty loud.

I'm sure that all but the most uninformed audiophile has noticed that China (or rather Chinese manufacture) has become a major component of the mid to high end audio marketplace these days. My Rotel amplifiers were made in China, so was the Marantz integrated I owned before it, and I'm sure that many...

my mingda tube amp smelled of fresh paint when it first arrived. and from its transformers the smell of paint thinner was nauseating to the point where i had to stick the unit in a separate room with the tragedy of running extra long speaker cables from it. from asking around i've learned that this...

I am looking to put some pro amps through a wall behind my home theater components, into another room where they will be out of reach, out of sound. I hear some people say that you have to turn these pro amps on and off, manually, every time. I may also be running some extra dedicated 20 Amp circuits...
