    Acoustic fabric

Does anyone have a "go to" source for acoustic fabric in building some panels? I'm looking for a fairly wide selection of preferably solid colors.

Also if there's any good advice on building panels that would also be appreciated.

Go to a fabric store, hold the fabrics in the air, the more you can see through it the better It doesn't have to be see through but should be relatively light and you should be able to blow through it.

      I gathered that much already

Although I appreciate the reminder... these will be "cheap" and probably more for decoration with hopeful side benefits :P

Chuck, the Mercedes of acoustical fabric, that you're going to want to use for any solution, is "Guilford of Maine". Prices can vary from retailers, and some are very expensive. But if you look around, you can find reasonable deals. It's been 10 years since I bought some myself, but if I remember right, I got it from http://www.silentsource.com/silentcore-colorchart1.html

Well sounded like you were asking about fabric specifically aimed at acoustics, which is going to be marked up a lot. Sorry I misunderstood.

There is a company that sells bags, which you can put around the owens corning compressed panels.

DIY Acoustic Panels - "Transparent" Fabric Question
                by mlammert
I am getting ready to build some DIY acoustic panels for my listening room. I am building 5 of these panels; one for a ceiling cloud and two on each side wall (one for first reflection point and one for second reflection point on each wall). I have tested this by hanging some blankets and quilts at...

                ATS Acoustic Panels Installed
                by theSven
I finally took the plunge 3 weeks ago and purchased some 48"x24" ATS acoustic panels for the theater/listening room. In preparation for the new center channel Steve Manning is helping me with. Per the posts from Evil Twin getting a panel was required. I first ordered 6 panels, but then realized...

                Acoustic Panels using R13 Insulation?
                by Club1820
OK. I know that the best option would be to buy Acoustic Panels from a manufacturer such as Real Traps. Or if DIY, then using Corning 703 insulation.

But who knows if I would ever get around to either one of these options. So, since my basement was recently finished, including...

DIY Room Treatment / Acoustic Panels - Any Ideas?

As above please. I live in a rented flat so can't go crazy and install a full on room treatment system :P so I had some ideas after seeing some other peoples set ups on here. Basically I thought of creating some 'acoustic panels' which are essentially rectangular pieces of wood with an acousitc foam...
