OK. I know that the best option would be to buy Acoustic Panels from a manufacturer such as Real Traps. Or if DIY, then using Corning 703 insulation.
But who knows if I would ever get around to either one of these options. So, since my basement was recently finished, including insulating the walls, I now have left over R13 insulation. I was wondering if these could be used as Acoustic Panels in the mean time?
I would build a simple frame box and insert some insulation. Would this work? Would it be of any benefit/improvement in sound?
If so, does the box have to be completely enclosed to not allow any fibers to escape?
Let me know if this is doable.
Thanks to all who respond.
