I moved into a Dynavector Karot MC from a Rega Exact MM. I moved my phono stage into MC and set it @100K. But I have lost my volume and dynamics even at 2 bells on the dial. My dealer thinks that my Moon LP3 is the problem and isnt a true MC phono stage and does not have the oomph for this low voltage cart. I believe its 0.5v. Anyone have ideas and Im already thinking of moving into the Dynavector phono anyhow from the Moon.

You've probably tried this, but just some thoughts here. Have you tried adjusting the gain, loading, and capacitance settings on the Moon LP3? I'd think 60dB gain would be enough, but I guess that would depend on the gain of your preamp. Is 100k ohm loading the recommended for that cartridge. Seems kind of high for a moving coil.John

Yes its a 100 ohm's and the DC resistance is 38 ohm and its rated at 0.3mv. I switched it to a 100 on my phono. As far as I know there is two settings 47k for MM and 100 for MC. Thanks for your help.Comment
