    Krell S300i

    Krell S300i

I thought that this was a great deal until I found out that this thing is "Manufactured in China"

Here goes the High End exorbitant prices for Made in China at least if it was made in the US, Canada, Japan or Europe I could understand but made in a Country where labor cost is 1/10 of the US come on....

I am making it a strict policy to no longer make any big ticket purchases that are made in china. This is now a life long commitment.

I'm not sure if we can escape the Chinese empire -- how many of the transistors and circuit boards and transformers etc. etc. inside the products from even the very most expensive audio components are made in China? For example, how much of my Ayre C-5xe is really American made, how much of my Classe CA2200 is really made in Canada?

That is a very good point, it is assembled in Canada for now :B Many of the parts are imported and probably few from the US.

There should be a disclaimer on all products including electronics, that state the % of country of origin 8O

Did you know that many products have less that 1% part made in the USA but the manufacture can stamp a label MADE IN USA.

            Tax refund upgrades , anybody?
            by Alaric
As the season approaches I have begun to get upgraditis. I thought about speakers , but my little amp seems to be the choke point. I've been looking at the bel canto s300i and used Krell KAV-400xi. These would allow for speakers next year. :T I wish I could hear them first , as I'm not sure I'll like...

            Made in China
            by Don
I recently auditioned the rmb 1075 (thinking of buying).
The dealer told me that the components are made by Rotel in England but assembled only in China. Is this correct? :?:

I have a few bad experiences with items that were made in China.

            Any info is appreciat...

Does anyone have any experience pairing the new Bel Canto digital amps with the B&W 800 series speakers?

I have been exploring better amplication after I got my 805S. Currently I have a Cambridge Audio 540R receiver (100W into 2 channels 8ohm). The receiver is fine for HT but really...

Advice for HT 5.2 Setup, Sourcing Parts from China
            by hawkson
            Hi,
I will be sourcing all of my parts from China. I am currently living in Shanghai and couldn't bring my commercial Axiom M60's + HSU sub to Shanghai without extremely high 20% import tax(600$ just to import my own equipment, talk about unfair trade) and 400$ shipping.

            My focus...

            Thiel & Krell
            by Nick M
I spent about four hours at my local hifi shop yesterday listening to various combinations of gear from Paradigm (Signature Line), Thiel, Rotel, and Krell.

After listening to my Signature S4's at home for many hours I have picked up on a couple things I would like to improve upon with...
