I am having some serious problems/frustrations with my 8 month old 605. My problem occurs when i try to hook up my newly acquired sub up to my sub pre-out. Up to now i have never hooked up a sub to this receiver. I know for a fact that my sub is operating properly.
When I hook up the sub and run audyssey, I only faintly hear the sub during the configuration process. After it has completed, I hear nothing from my sub when watching a DVD on DD5.1. My dvd player is bitstreaming DD5.1 and my 605 is set to DD5.1 but no sub signal at all. My 5 other speakers have no problems. I called onkyo support guy and he informed me that the sub preout is supposed to output 1v when activated, and that I will more than likely have to send my receiver in for repair. I went so far as to hook up a rca cable(with exposed leads on the other end) to the sub preout in order to test the supposed 1v with a voltmeter and nada.....no signal at all.
Am I overlooking something simple, are my receiver settings wrong or am I indeed stuck with a faulty receiver? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
