    Gorgeous Gadgets

Saw this idea on another forum, so thought we'd have a shot here..

A thread about Hifi that looks good, regardless of sound!

I love the look of Opera Audio's stuff...

And perhaps a little bias, I love the look of Bladelius' gear!

Gosh, where does one start here. There's no doubt the Opera Audio stuff looks great. I love their Droplet CDP in particular...

I recently posted a link sometime back to a very swanky system from Steinway. Here it is again.

    http://www.steinwaylyngdorf.com/

That said I think that Sonus Faber make some of the most amazing looking speakers known to mankind. I'll also make specific reference to the Guarneri Memento speaker. They're minimalist in design is striking and having seen them in the flesh you will appreciate the levels of craftmanship gone into their manufacture. Luckily they sound great too. All their speakers do look great too, but the Guarneri Mementos to me are perfect.

    Vincent.

I don't want the world. I just want your half.

      Hi Vincent,

I too love the look of most of the Sonus Faber range - apart from the reference speaker - it just looks odd to me, wider than it is deep. I have heard it though, and to be 100% honest, I thought it was good, but not $40,000 good!

Speaking of Vincent, I quite like Vincent Audio's gear too!

Especially the monstrous SV 238 (previously owned):

That Droplet CDP sure is a cool looking piece of equipment.

I have been admiring the simple looking design of the Ayre line up.
I am in love with the looks of the MX-R Mono Blocks. 300 watts with dimentions of just 11" W x 18.75" D x 3.75" . Beautifully machined.

My personal favourite is from Chapter

The glass lense looks amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice. Sounds pretty good as well.

There's lots of good looking gear, but speakers and turntables are often the most exotic in design. Here's a link to some of the most expensive and visually striking turntables:

Thats one sexy turntable. I hope to someday have the tools to build something like that.

I have a pair of SF Guarneri Homage speakers and a Meridian 559 amplifier. The amp is great but aging and I'd like to get more from the speakers. The Guarneri's can deliver weight, scale, clarity...

I've been comparing those speakers with my Dartzeel cth-8550, Esoteric X03 SE and my cables Mit Shotgun Ma, Transparent Reference RCA.
My conclusion is that the 802 are too analitical with the musicality of the Dartzeel, who is more balanced on the Elipsa and the diamond tweeter is...
