    Equalizer, Vocal Softening?

I have been talking about my B&W 685s being alittle bright in the vocal area when on mid/high volumes. So which bars do i need to play with, I have played with some but TBH i dont really know what am doing, So i did play with the equalizer but i seem to get the treble down to much so it sounds alittle muffled.

Here is picture of how i have set the equalizer up. (look at the top of the screen)

    Thanks, Hope you can help!!.

I would guess that the software you are using isn't that sophisticated or aimed at hifi applications.

Does your amp have treble and bass controls - probably not as I would imagine that would be the first thing you would have considered.

A tube amp might be an interesting solution if you have any cash burning a hole in your pocket. A guy I know who plays the bass is just getting into hifi for his home. After hearing a tube amp on a little pair of Quad 11L he has now decided to double his budget just to get into tubes. There seems to be a bit of a tube amp invasion from China at the moment. There are even some nifty tube amps that are set up to dock i-plops, sorry pods (I'm a bit old school). Maybe, just maybe this is the sound that you seek.

Try adjusting a bit downward in the 2-4 kHz range. Too much emphasis there can put an annoying “edge” on vocals.

I have a true need for a automatic room correcting parametric equalizer if such a beast exists. Let me explain. I live in a condo which is built with the "Great Room" concept. The Living room, dining, entry area is all one big room with celings that run to a very high peak of 30' (and provide...

Help design the new Behringer Sub Equalizer BSE2496C to replace the BFD...
        by Sonnie Parker
I have spoken with Behringer and they have shown serious interest in designing a replacement for the BFD that is more suited to the consumer market. As many of you may already know... the DSP1124 has been discontinued. The replacement FBQ2496 only offers 1 preset and still doesn't get us many of the...

Adding An Equalizer to My Rotel System
        by frank1203
Whats the easier way for a novice like me to set up / add an equalizer to my system? I have the RSX-1056 Receiver and the RMB-1075 Amp. I am bi-amping 2 front Paradigm Studio 100's to the 1075 and powering the CC-570 Center speaker. The 1056 is powering the two rears. Mostly everything is wired using...

Receivers with at least a 3-band equalizer?
        by selection7
I'm looking for a stereo reciever capable of outputting and inputting 5.1 digital audio that has at least a 3-band equalizer. Apparantly equalizers are out of vogue these days and we can't be trusted to set things how we like, we need presets. Anyway, I also want it to be able to indepedently control...
