What would i use to drive speakers?

I wanna get into the music scene big time and im limited in budget, im only 21 years old... i might build the modula MTM's or Zaph Audio Alumimum Budget MTM's,, what would i use to drive these? Amplifier, EQ? im such a nub, any help would be appreciate,, i will be listening with my universal Sony SACD/CD/DVD Player i think if its good enough..

I have a decent Pioneer 814 or something receiver 6x100 7.1 :P, but my speakers are bookshelfs, i wanted better speakers. and if i got better speakers i would probally need something more powerful to drive them, could i put a pre-amp to the receiver, for stereo on the new speakers?

p.s. i think 2 channel is the best for music, from everyone that said so, am i right?
p.s.2 would i need to add a subwoofer, if so should i make one or buy one.. :P

If you like music don't touch mp3 at less than 256 kbps. Buy music now. Get something decent to listen to it on. Buy better equipment as money allows. If you love music, buy music. I prefer full range speakers for music, but with care a bookshelf/sub system can sound good as well. Find some music friends - buy their leftovers - that is what I did when I was your age.

Pioneer makes a pretty decent receiver and should be able to drive either of these speaker designs. I'd suggest you post in the DIY forum if you want more responses since more people there will be familiar with these designs.
