marantz DV7600....Opinions ??

A buddy of mine asked me in the gym this AM about this player, Marantz DV7600, and since I have no experience with it ?? does anybody have knowledge of it's abilities ? Good or Bad ?

His primary use is SACD/CD and DVD in that order.

I have the DV6400 and for audio, I'm VERY happy with its hi-res capabilities (I don't use it for movies, except when I have a badly scratched rental--it has great error correction). I wouldn't hesitate to go with another Marantz player if audio is the priority.

got one, like it enough not to buy the 9600 although came close. like the marantz line enough to purchase sa11 last week. i am not thinking any more of upgrading 7600 until video format shakes out a little. i use the unit with hdmi direct to a runco.

Can not go wrong with the 7600. Always liked marantz dvd players never let me down and top notch audio and video. My preferred choice over anything in its price bracket.

I'm using one. Have it linked directly to the plasma via HDMI (for picture). Both audio & picture quality = great, imho.
