Had my Studio 100's about two weeks now. Had to replace two drivers, in one of the towers. Happens again and Paradigm says it will send new tower. Been powering the 100's with a rb 1090. Been taking it easy with the speakers, to give them time to break in. Speakers must of been banged around during shipment. Hope theres no more problems. I like the sound of the 100's.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm sure if you have further problems Paradigm will take care of you.- Bottom

Sounds odd to me.
I'm trying to visualize a big enough impact that would not damage the packing material or cabinet but would wreck drivers that inherently move a fair amount. There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

never thought that iron butterfly would be too much for these paradigms, maybe i should drag out some wayne newton. In all honesty, these were never put to the acid test nor will they. Very unusual for paradigm to have driver problems. I know that it isnt from cranking the volume, because it hasnt been done, regardless what amp I'm using Ive always taken care of my toys.- Bottom

Yup, very interesting. I drive my Studio 100's with 200wpc (a very conservative 200wpc, IMO) and it's been cranked pretty good with no driver failures.
Very odd failures indeed....
BTW - no Wayne Newton for me.

by JohnnzHi again all!
I built a pair of Nat P's a couple years ago which I am still using and very happy with but speaker building must be a bug and I could not resist the chance to design and build some new speaker cabinets to house some Paradigm drivers I won at auction for cheap!

by blues651Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and rotel seperates
. My problem is that at lower volumes the 100s do not sound detailed like they do at mid to higher volumes where they really open up. Would a 1090 solve this problem or would a new pre-amp (1068) or something else serve me better as my next...

by ptarmiganI need help with my final decision! Over the last two weeks I’ve listened to the following: Paradigm signature s8 and studio 100s, B&W 803D, Thiel 2.4, Dynaudio contour s5.4, PSB Platinum, Definitive 7000 STs, and Revel F52. I’m going to write my full reviews later this week. I’ve narrowed...-

by RickyParadigm Studio 100s are 91dB sensitivity and 8 ohms; on paper, one of the easiest speakers to drive. Since a 3dB increase required doubling the power, if an 85dB speaker needs 400W, then the 91dB speaker would only need 100W. Do owners of 85dB speakers need/use 400 watts? No, because there are very...-
