I see that some of the op amps de-emphasise the bass which i'm not keen on.

But the shop which sold the tubes to me also do upgrade, so ill have a chat with them.

A quick update - I have just updated the output stage with the opa 627 chips.

The effect is stunning - the improvement in clarity is something to behold. Still burning in the chips but - I like it a lot

          I believe so.

I didnt do the changover myself. It was done by the shanling dealer on the Gold Coast.

Afterwards the showed me the IC's he replaced, and there were three of them.

I was actually quite stunned by the differene it made, I was expecting a small improvement but in fact the difference was probably one of the most striking in my long upgrade path.

                Hi,
                I just ordered my T-80 yesterday :T , can't wait till I get it.
I'm a little confused about the opamp mods, so is the best thing to do is switch all 3 with 6 x 627 with 3 adapters ?
                Thanks.

                    Hi NMyTree,
You can order it from http://www.pacificvalve.us
It also sold on EBay and AudiogoN, might be the same dealer.

I have just searched onto this thread and have just made a purchase of a used T80 with the opamp mods. I hope to receive it in a week or so. Unfortunately the seller thought he had the manual/instruction book but found out he misplaced it. As I would like a complete package, would anyone out there willing to scan me a copy of the Manual/Instruction booklet?

                      Many thanks in advance!!!

Often the manual is available for download at the manufacturer's website. But you probably tried that. Enjoy the rig its a good unit. -Russ

I would make a scan of my copy except my scanner don't work with windows vista 8O . You will have to wait around while I make a windows xp install on another hdd then I will be able to scan it. Enjoy the Shanling, I am .

Thanks for the offers for the scan! Fortunately, I found someone on another thread that actually have the manual on pdf already. I now have the manual but still waiting for the actual player.

However, once I get the player, I may still have to wait as everything is in storage as I am in a transition and will not be able to move into my new home until the end of the year.

It's good that so far have read very good reviews on this player with the exception on the issue of build quality. Still read of very strong build quality and some say poor. Sonic-wise very good. Can't wait.

                            Again thanks for the help.

Build quality a concern? The damn thing weighs 9kg, has a 11 mm thick alluminium front panel and solid alluminium all around about 2 mm thick with a solid alluminium remote control. In an australian review of this cd player the reviewer said it felt more like a krell.
