The history
The history of the pod speakers started in the UK in the 1990's when a group of B&W's best developers - among others the men behind B&W's legendary Nautilus speaker, Lawrence Dickie and Simon Ghahary - were assigned by Robert Trunz to develop a new set of untraditional speakers. The overall mission was to make high quality sound available at a reasonable price. The result was the minipod series.
Today the Danish HI-FI producer Scandyna - with the
grand old man in the world of HI-FI and loudspeakers
Peter M. Hasselriis as chairman - has licensed the manufacturing and marketing of the loudspeakers.
Since 1996 Scandyna has continuously developed the concept – recently by introducing the micropod.
All speakers are produced in highly specialized factories in Denmark and China. Thereby Scandyna has put more than 40 years of experience with loudspeakers and HI-FI into the brand.
