    Just want to say hello

I'm a newbie to HT guide and just wanted to say hi. Just a question, I don't seem to find any pics of members audio setups. Is that because I'm not looking hard enough or because you can't post pics here?

Oh okay let me give this a shot. I won't post a pic in that Rotel forum out of respect for the Rotel fans.

Welcome to the Guide Pro_Ac Fan!

Nice setup you've got there :T I'm not sure why we don't have a members gallery. It would be nice.

Those are a set of Allison Acoustics CD-6 monitors. 2-ways with an upfiring 8"woofer in a sealed enclosure. My "regular" speakers are in the basement. Those would be the Almarro M33A's.. hand polished oak with dual 4" full range drivers in a TL design.

ProAc, pretty expensive stuff you seem to have, speakers and those "tube" amps (correct me if I'm wrong). Welcome to the boards!!!

Well its taken me a long while to acquire this current rig. I've traveled down most of the audio paths with everything from huge SS powered seperates driving Dahlquist DQ-10's to flea powered SET amps driving huge Altec A7 Voice of the Theaters. I've finally settled on a custom built 30 watt PP amp with very robust American trannies. Having the gear designed to your liking makes it much sweeter in the end. Sort of the difference between buying a suit off the rack or having the tailor make you a custom fit one. If you wanted to walk into a store and buy my rig, I figure it might set you back about 10K. BTW audio is my one true passion ( family notwithstanding) and I'm hardly rich.

                      Review of Sithlord's Rotel 1098
                      by BladeRnR
Hello all. I'm Sithlord's Brother (Older) and I'm so impressed with the Rotel 1098 I must impress upon you (I doubt I need to do that anyway) just how good this Processor is. Stereo/Surround was once my hobby but I handed over the mantel to Sithlord. From my experiences in Hi-Fi and also watching my...

                      Goodbye Rotel hello Anthem
                      by mpauline
Well not totally. I have purchased an Anthem MRX-300 to act as a pre/pro for my 1095 and 1080 amps. I have had Rotel processors for the last 12 years. A 1066, 976, maybe not in that order, and then the awesome 1098. It was a very hard decision to replace the 1098 but technology keeps moving and...

                      Hi All,

I'm new here to the board and actually to the whole HT arena. I auditioned some Def Techs (2006s) and B&Ws. Very nice speakers.
I'm starting from scratch in a 16'X20' room.

I'm really considering getting the Rotel 1065. I've been asking around about...

Rotel separates or Hi end receiver, that is the question
                      by mikeyc
I've posted this question on another AV forum and got an interesting answer. I'm currently debating whether to get Rotel separates (1068 and 1075) or go with a good receiver from one of the reputable brands eg. Denon, Elite or Yamaha which would probably be cheaper and have more "bells and whistles"....
