DPL2 on 7 speakers?

I've read that the Onkyo 989 can play DPL2 over 7 speakers i.e "if you use Pro Logic II, the rears are run in parallel with the sides so the 2 surround channels are played over 4 speakers." Anyone knows how to do this on the RDC-7? With DPL2 I get no sound from the rear speakers, just from the side ones.

In the listening mode setup menu go to surround analog/pcm setup and change the surround speakers setting from surround l/r to surround l/r + back. Do the same for the surround digital setup. I must say that DPL2 over 7 speakers sounds much better than I expected. The interesting thing is that Dolby Digital 5.1 is also played over 7 speakers and it sounds great!
