    Squeezebox

I use an HTPC as a music server in my HT/2 channel setup. All my music is in Monkey's Audio Lossless codec. I have seen a couple posts about this new Squeezebox. If anyone has any experience with it, please post your thoughts. I would be interested in putting a couple of these throughout the house instead of an HTPC at each location. Does anyone know if it works with Monkey's Audio and with 4000+ songs without issue? I like the fact that u have a display and can search ur collection, as well as play all in sycn or independently at different locations throughout the house. If there are any other issues I haven't thought of, please let me know. I would be running the optical out to a DAC1 then 1068 at one location and receivers at the other locations.

    Thanks,
    AJ

    AJ,

I'm looking into one of these as well for use in another part of the house. Someone affiliated with Slim Devices stops by www.AVSForum.com sometimes to answer some threads.

If they don't support that format right now for some reason, I'm sure they will in the future. One of the things that drew me to it as opposed to the Roku and others is their customer support and the fact that they open up their software and hardware to customer tweaks.

      Squeezebox, ripping and other stuff..
      by treytexag
Jim, at the suggestion of a friend here in Houston, I bought a squeezebox about a month ago. I like it allot, although I have yet to rip all my cd's.

I'm curious, and sorry about the dumb question, but how does the ripping of the cd's clean up the sound? Do you have to use any certain...

      12 Monkeys
      by P-Dub
Staring Bruce Willis and Brad Pit, it's a story about time travel. Bruce's character travels to the past to obtain information about a virus and the Army of the 12 Monkeys to help the future survive the catastrophy that occurs in 1997. In what I would call a great pefromance by both Bruce and Brad,...

      Logitech Squeezebox Controller App
      by Blindamood
If you use any of the Logitech Squeezebox devices for streaming music, I just discovered that there is now a Controller app available directly from Logitech (info at the link below). I had read about a third-party app that was available previously, but I guess now it's 'official'. This may be old news...

Is the Bravo D1 and Samsung HD931 making a HTPC less neccessary????
      by Gordon Moore
Aside from PVR and MP3 jukebox capabilities and games....

if you were using your HTPC for mostly movies (either a do it yourself lowcost/hi-quality scaler/deintelacer or an all-in-one player/scaler/deinterlacer) do you think that a device like the Bravo D1
      is making the HTPC less...

      New HTPC (downsizing)
      by Hdale85
Ok so my previous HTPC was a few years old now, and honestly it's way more power then is really needed and it uses way too much electricity. So I've been wanting to downsize my HTPC for quite some time. I thought about going for a set top box route but the GUI's and what not just weren't what I wanted...
