Hi guys...looking for some advice!
I have (4) Dayton Audio DVC310-88s that are split between in 7 cubic foot enclosures (see below). I was gearing up to start finishing them when I decided it'd probably be almost the same amount of work to just build new enclosures that needed less prep. Additionally, I think I'd like to make them smaller and with better bracing. Better yet, I won't have to go LFE-less while I build, prep, paint and finish
So, I'm looking at 4.5 cubic feet (probably will bump up to 5 to account for bracing and driver displacement) per pair of drivers. They'll be powered by a Dayton Audio SA1000 amp (about 950w to power all 4).
From what I've seen online, there aren't many HT subwoofer designs using dual drivers that are 12s ( at least that I've found, please feel free to direct me if you know of anything). Most are 15s and 18s in front loaded designs. Does anyone have any recommendation on driver orientation that I should look into? Stick with both front loaded? Opposed drivers? Any others?
Mostly looking to keep the box size below 5 cubic feet per pair have a clean look (when finished) - will probably end up with Piano black. What do you guys think?
