Just about all 703 is in, and other panels test fit for gluing.

Have a small issue here. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's less than 1/4"....

Hoping to have this done by the end of the weekend! Only issues I'm having are that gap and how I am going to bolt up the binding posts after doing the finish. I may have to put the posts in now and work around them when doing the finish.

Also, if someone can let me know if I have too much/too little 703 that would be awesome. It's 2" 703.

It wouldn't be any fun if you didn't have things like that gap to solve along the way.

I'm sure you can find something to shim that gap. Strip of MDF or other wood at the right thickness. Do you have a planer?

Gaps. How big? Big gaps fill well with PL adhesive. Small gaps, make a putty from wood glue and fine sawdust.

Binding posts. Well I used the PE aluminum plates.

Thanks fellas. No planar, but that PL adhesive technique would be pretty easy.

hahah. Thanks Ryan. I could switch to those, but I love the recessed look, and too late to switch it up now.....I'll test if I can get the hardware on the binding post with the top and baffle on before I glue them on.

You could run a temporary seal of tape down either side of the seam and then fill the gap with either epoxy or polyester resin.

Thanks Paul! I think for this time I am going to do the PL adhesive.

I just planned out the wiring in this thing. What a snakes nest. I hope I have it right.

If I am reading this right, the positive from mid network AND the tweeter network are in reverse polarity with the mid and tweeter?

Also, the woofer's are in series with proper polarity?

                Thanks!!

You got to post a picture of the crossover you're using. There were at least 4 different ones. I'm to lazy to dig back through this thread to figure it out.

Yep. Mid and Tweeter reverse polarity. Woofer positive polarity. This is directly opposite of what the Khans will be. CJD likes to make life difficult.

tweeter portion of crossover soldered. Waiting on Woofer and mid parts, so this should be wrapped up before Christmas!

FWIW you can go reversed on the woofers and "in phase" on the mud and tweeter just like the khans. Polarity relative is what matters. If this is paired with the Khan's I'd do that.

Hhahaahha. Thanks Jon for the support! I should have the remaining crossover parts by the middle to end of next week. So hopefully I'll have a free weekend day to work on it. If I get that, it will be wrapped up except for the finish!

cjd - When I get to wiring this, do you mind me pm'ing you if I get lost? I haven't had a chance to look at the schematic since reading your post, but am pretty sure I have your instructions understood.

Those binding pots cinch the wire like that? Interesting.

Hahahha. I think you can, but I never have, and I will be using bananas. I just set it against there to show where it was going.

I know!! All are. I just need another $400 for the rest of the crossover parts (Markk's and Khan's )!!

Getting REALLY excited. Khan's cabinets should be all done today. WOOOOT!! :E :E :E

                                            Thanks Chuck!

Small update on this, got the wires done for the tweeter in the chamber and opened up the backs for the mid and woofers.

Ok. soooooooo thought I had all the components taken care of for the crossovers.

SOME HOW LOST A 12 uf CAP.

Sooooo waiting on that. But the crossovers are built as far as I can take them and they will be boarded and installed this weekend.

Some pics and some confirmation that I have the inductors aligned appropriately.

                                                  QUESTION:
Mid crossover; are my inductors ok in this orientation?

                                                            Dayton 3UG73 Heater, Utility

Works great. And made by Dayton too. Just don't do finishing with fumes that could ignite.
The apartment garage that I'm renting doesn't really lend itself well to putting a heater in since it is PACKED with stuff.

BUT! Good news is that my wife and I should be putting in an offer on a home very shortly! Probably in the next two or three weeks, so I will have PLENTY of room to do work.

If the garage isn't heated that we buy, I will definitely look into picking up a unit like the one you posted!

It's supposed to be about 65 today so I will get the top glued on. Just will need to get the baffle on (which....shhhhhh.....I may do IN the apt! )

Said it worked out great, just drive over, roll up the door do their woodworking. Sounds like a great solution, but I keep thinking the management at the storage place would have a problem with it, insurance or something.

Since my Khan's are ported should the center be ported also? If...
