    To Cdp 102/202/302/502 Owners

    Hello

Dou you get ocassional dropout/clicks when playing music.
I mean in loudspeakers, not transport noise.
    My transport is just changed.

I get an occasional click, but no dropouts. I haven't mentioned this to Classé because it is fairly rare for me, and I haven't pursued any solutions.

Sorry I don't have any more suggestions, but the click hasn't been a big enough issue for me to investigate further.

I do get those with my 502 at times and oddly enough it seems to be more so the case with some cd's than others. I will get my system checked up in a couple of months and will find out then. For the time being I am mainly listening to apple-lossless ripped music through an Ipod with wadia i170 docking station and cullen IV modded ps-audio link dac which seems to sound better than the 502.

I have the 202. Every now and then, the sound will just cut out. The disc keeps spinning, but it won't play. Clean the disc, etc. and nothing helps. This is the case with about 2% of my CD's. I sent a bunch of the CD's off to Classe and this was their response: "Because Classe is a small specialty company, we buy CD Drives from large OEM suppliers. The suppliers do not provide us with the Software Code that controls the Drive; so we have to write supplementary code that works with the manufacturers own code. This means that we don't have a great deal of flexibility with how much range of adjustment we can make. This is true of any High-End CD manufacturer.
Unfortunately that means that some Discs don't read well, but the large majority do and sound great." Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. When this happens, I make a copy of the disc and the copy works fine - seems my $69 CD burner from Dell can read discs that my $8,000 CD player from Classe can't. Oh well, like I said, it's only an issue with about 2% of my discs. And they're right - when it works, it sounds great.

Same here. cdp 202, no drops/pauses, yet occasional 'electroststic' like clicks/crackles. < 5% of time. I thought it had something to to with the electricity network in my house, but now that you mentioned it, i suspect this is the CDP, or may be my other components?

I am having this exact issue with my CDP-10 on certain discs. Anyone know of a place that tells you if a CD is redbook compliant or not?
