Found Box; need advice for sub

    Hello All,
I found a pre-made box for $20.00 (Retail $100.00). I have pictures which I will try to attach. Part of the whole DIY problem is I don't have a lot of tools, so I thought this might be a way to make a nice sub without all the cutting and gluing. If it is a bad idea, please let me know. The box is make of a compressed material and covered in ugly gray carpet, looks like an automobile box. The dimensions are 34" tall, 17" deep, 13" wide. It is an elongated rectangle with two driver openings. Each opening is 11.25x11.25. Between the openings is the port. So at the back of the box are the port beginnings that connect in the middle and exit the front. Any ideas? Any price ranges for a descent sub? Thanks.

It's a pretuned car 'sub' with a slot port. It's built for 2-10" drivers. It's designed to boom, so probably not something you want for home use.

Thanks. Kind of what I figured, but thought I would ask.

If you want a sub but don't want to build the enclosure get one of the 3 cu ft boxes from PE, Part Number 302-820

          Sub Port Resonance question
          by ahennings
What would be the lowest frequency for a vented sub Port 1 resonance (using unibox) that you would recommend. I'm having a little difficul balancing port size, resonance and air velocity.

Having trouble figuring out sub port length with enclosure constraints
          by crackyflipside
I'm trying to design a dual ported sub into the base of an entertainment center. I modeled everything in WinISD, but when I reduce the enclosure volume by the port volume, the port length has to change to get the tuning, which changes the enclosure volume again. So I'm stuck in a cat and mouse trying...

Build: 5.1 system, Overnight Sensations MTM and SP10 sub
          by BiKESEAT
I've got a bit of time at home at the moment, so thought I do a little project. I've built a few subs in years gone by, but never done full range speakers, never finished with veneer or even had a router. So a bit of reading around here and I decided to do a 5.1 system using the Overnight Sensations...

          Have box...need sub
          by james5
          So here goes...

I have a 1.9 cu ft box. I want to put a 12" sub in it for 70% HT/20% Gaming/10% Music. I have a HSU STF-2 that I want to move over by the TV and set this new one up in the corner by the couch. I would prefer that it be down-firing.

          I've tried to...

          by TEK
          Hello

Just curious to hear if any of you have heard or tested the use of Aperiodic vented boxes for subs.

          Stuff before edit, just ignore:

Not sure if "acoustic vented sub box" is the correct english term, so let me try to explain.
