Thanks guys...the hard work and planning is finally paying off. When you pull the trigger on color schemes you just "HOPE" and pray it works out...

If I ever decide to renovate my old HT, I know who I am gonna get. Right, E ?

And when it comes to re-cableing, I'll call on Tex & Lex Cables Ltd.

Seriously, though, I do wish I had E's talent.

Eric, the worse thing to ever do is give me a nail and a hammer 8O However I think I've started a pretty good job with my risers. One thing though I noticed that you laid insulation between the frame work.....damn..................luckily i don't have the carpet down and I used screws on the plywood because insulating make much sense.....I'll do the same if you don't mind. It's a good thing you showing your expertise with those great pics. Thanx mate! Great job!!

                  Cheers!

Clive: I MIND! J/K...are you crazy...go for it buddy! Don't be calling me no expert though...I'm flyin' by the seat of my pants actually, doing what research I can but then just doin' it like Nike! Funny thing though, I only insulated my stage and not my risers...wanted my risers to shake, rattle, and roll a bit...but wanted my stage to be more dampened. Make sure when you put the plywood back that you use Liquid Nails adhesive and then screw it down...then no squeaks my friend!

Ok, George...you can get a freebie! But only you.... 8)

Given that you're on a concrete base I doubt you'll feel much even on the risers...at least I don't in my HT even with the dual tempests going.

Is it aboslutely required to put carpet spikes if you're placing your speakers on a carpet?

I did not put the carpet spikes cause I heard that they can damage/tear the carpet. My wife won't be happy if that happens.

However a friend of mine said that to get smooth bass,...

I have completed the glue up on my sonotube sub this evening.

I've read of many using headliner to wrap the sonotube on the external surface.

Has anyone used carpet? I was considering using a low nap/pile carpet to wrap my tube. Are there reasons not to use carpet? What...

Ready to paint and carpet. I was planning on installing thin wall carpet 2-3 feet from the floor because somewhere I thought I read this was a good idea. In fact, what I remember is carpet the entire front wall, then about 3 feet high on the rest. Does this sound right to anyone? I don't need to...

I probably already know the answer, but I'll ask anyway...

Is it possible to remove the carpet from an automotive subwoofer box for home use, without destroying the box. I ask because Parts Express has Goldwood speaker boxes. I was thinking of a Dayton RS315 with bracing, stuffing, and...

I was talking to my wife and trying to figure out good spot to place my new 802DI speakers that "hopefully" will be here sometime in March. My wife doesn't want the new 802DI speakers to take up too much room in our living room and to get in the way of people coming and going.
