Thanks for the advice so far everyone. I'm tight with space and putting in a a/v rack is not an option. I guess that leaves me with 2 choices: First would be to place all equipment to the right of the television on a single rack. It would have dvd, rotel 1068/1095, and directv box; Second would be to place tv on center entertainment stand and place equipment underneath.
I prefer to have the television on a center stand, but my question would be the location of the center channel. With the television being on a stand, it would put the center channel well above 4 feet if I was to mount it somehow. Underneath the screen would be different for me, but I have seen a few home theatres set up that way. I have also listened to some set up that way and enjoyed it.
I have a complete energy veritas system with 2.4's for the mains, 2.0 center channel, and the 2.0R for the rears. The center channel is not huge, but not tiny either. Are they prefab entertainment stands that accomodate center channels or would I have to look at building it?
Any thoughts would be appreciated and I apologize for not searching for that long as I'm sure similiar questions have been asked.
