    Center channel placement/stand (?)

Has anyone run across anything (either on the market or diy) that can be used to help position/angle a center channel? Mine sits on top of an a/v cabinet which houses the tv, and it needs to be angled down just a few inches. Whatever I use will be very visible too, so I can't just stick a book under the back of the speaker or something. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Chris

How about a door stopper or you can make a simple wedge design.

My Definitive CLR2000 has a a handy threaded foot on the bottom of the speaker for angling it. Thats a nice feature in a center speaker.
With my new Dynaudio center I plan to do just what Eduardo recommended. Make a wedge.

        Chris,

I'm using a Lovan Director adjustable center-channel stand which I picked up at a local Tweeter's for $49. I like it a lot - it's very solid, very well made out of cast metal. It adjusts the angle of the speaker via threaded rear feet as well as adjusts for the width of the speaker. It has helped the audio presentation a lot - primarily by de-coupling the speaker from the RPTV cabinet and also allowing me to overhang the front edge of the TV by almost an inch. Highly recommended.

I'm using rubber feet from Radio Shack, hehe. To change the angle, just push the feet in or out underheath. You don't actually fasten them to the speaker or the TV. These are the larger kind.

David's fix perhaps a bit more professional! I do like Lovan stuff.

I'm like David. Also, I stick three rubber squares on my stand to keep from scratching my NHT (piano black) spks. It looks real good.

Well thought I would share my experience with a new Mark Levinson DAC and placement of my center speakers.

I received my ML 360S Dac and sat down for a good listen. I pick piano classical music as I feel piano shows everything a system can and should do.

              Well, the center...

Hoping someone will help me with this dilemma.
I plan to eventually build the Mini Statements for my mains, Mini Statement center channel (Center) and have read that the center channel can also be used as surround (side) and surround (rear) speakers?? This will be for a 7.1 system.

              upgrade dilemma
              by whoaru99
Help! Can't make up my mind.

I have an old Sony SDP-E800(??) surround processor that I would like to upgrade.

The problem is that all my power amps are old too, even older than the processor. They are Yamaha 2) M80's (250 w/ch) and 1) M40 (120 w/ch) from the early/mid 80's....

Jim-Wayne-Curt, thanks again for creating such a great design. I have been wanting to build the statements ever since the day Jim posted the designs. It's been a long waiting process for me, we finally built our new house and I am working on our home theater. As soon as it's done i will be building...

              Center Channel Design?

I hope I picked an appropriate forum to post this.

I need some advice with center channel speakers. What I’m looking for doesn’t seem to be available for any price. commercially or DIY.

First a little background. I have no experience designing or building speakers. I am...
