I've been a bit out of touch with HT reality recently. Just wondering what the best choice for a programmable universal remote control is these days. Years ago it was the Philips Pronto systems, but I've gotten out of touch with the more recent offerings, if they still even make them, plus they tended to be expensive and unreliable.
More recently we've used Logitech Harmony systems, and in one install we used a RedEye system, but I discovered the company that made it went out of business.
I know there are some of the higher-end systems from URC and Crestron, but most of those only offer programming software to authorized dealers.
Is the Harmony the way to go? Is there something else that is better, can be programmed with readily available software, supports macros and discrete codes, and offers RF capability?
Thanks,
KJP
