    Dvd reader/burner on Netbook?

    Does anyone know if there would be any issues connecting an external Dvd writer/reader to a Netbook via USB connection?. Will it work ok?.

    It's either that or buy a new Notebook (More expensive option!!)

      Should be fine.. Make sure you get one with an external AC adapter though..

          May I ask why it would need an external adapter and not run off the USB power feed??.

              Because they don't have a lot of power coming into them, I think the power brick on those things are only like 40 or 50 watts max.

                      I have a Netbook and bought this Samsung portable DVD burner. I had nothing but trouble and frustration with it at the beginning.

                      then...my 13 year old daughter comes over...... literally touches it and the Netbook and POOF!!!. It works!!. What is it with kids nowadays !!! :rofl:...

                      I have a HP 9100 8X CDRW burner on my Win2K machine running EZCD4 using an overclocked celeon CPU (running at 1000hz) with ATA100 7200 RPM quantum HHD.
